Comcast’s Peacock Streaming Service to Increase Prices Next Week and Introduce Simplified Tier for Subscribers

Comcast’s Peacock Streaming Service to Increase Prices Next Week and Introduce Simplified Tier for Subscribers

In a formal announcement on Thursday, NBCUniversal’s streaming platform Peacock revealed plans to incrementally increase its subscription prices and introduce a new tier for users. Effective from July 23, the ad-supported premium plan will escalate to $10.99 per month, while the premium plus plan will be priced at $16.99 monthly.

In parallel, Peacock will commence trials of a “Select” tier, catering primarily to television enthusiasts. This tier promises access to current seasons of shows on NBC and Bravo, as well as an array of library titles, all available for $7.99 per month.

This pricing adjustment follows an earlier increase of $2 that occurred prior to the Olympic Games in Paris last year. The upcoming modifications mark the first substantial changes since Peacock’s inception.

With aspirations to stream more live sports than Amazon Prime, Paramount+, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV, and Netflix combined by 2026, Peacock reported a total of 41 million paid subscribers during the first quarter – a significant growth from the 36 million recorded at year-end 2021.

The streaming service’s content offerings encompass reality shows such as “Love Island USA” and films including “Wicked” and “Nosferatu.” Further updates will be provided in subsequent announcements.
