Apple CEO Tim Cook: Company Must Dominate Artificial Intelligence, Employees Informed

In an hour-long all-hands meeting, Apple Inc.’s CEO Tim Cook addressed the company’s employees, emphasizing the necessity for Apple to excel in Artificial Intelligence (AI). As reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Cook underscored the urgency by stating that Apple will substantially escalate its AI investments.

This emphasis follows an earnings call during which Cook informed investors and analysts of Apple’s intention to invest more significantly in AI technologies. During the employee meeting, Cook is said to have expressed a similar sentiment, asserting, “It is incumbent upon Apple that we achieve success in this area. We will do so. This is an opportunity that belongs to us.”

While Apple has introduced several AI-integrated features over the past year under the Apple Intelligence brand, there have been considerable delays in the anticipated upgrades to its voice assistant, Siri. Cook appears to acknowledge the competitive disadvantage Apple currently faces in this domain.

“Historically, we have not been pioneers,” Cook reportedly admitted. “There was a personal computer prior to the Macintosh, a smartphone preceding the iPhone, numerous tablets before the iPad, and an MP3 player existing before the iPod.” However, he reiterated Apple’s propensity for revolutionizing established market segments by inventing the modern iterations of these products.
