Google Pixel 10 Series Unveiled at Made by Google 2025 Event: Expect AI-Enhanced Camera, Faster Charging, and More

In the lead-up to Google’s 2025 event, excitement surrounds the anticipated Pixel 10 series, set to debut earlier than Apple’s iPhone 17. Apple’s hardware launch is slated for September.

Google has signaled its ambition to expand the Pixel line, potentially integrating more advanced generative AI capabilities with Gemini. The event commences at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday.

At its developer conference in May, Google unveiled numerous AI-related updates, and during the Pixel 10 event, it is expected to showcase additional features of Gemini. In a recent promotional YouTube video for the new devices, Google appears to take a playful jab at Apple’s delayed advancements in Apple Intelligence on the iPhone.

Reports circulate about a feature called “Camera Coach,” which allows Gemini to offer real-time advice for capturing superior photos by suggesting optimal angles and lighting.

There is also chatter of a conversational photo editing tool, where users can instruct Gemini to adjust parameters such as brightness, remove objects, or alter backgrounds in photographs.

The standard Pixel 10 smartphone is rumored to undergo substantial changes, notably with the incorporation of a dedicated telephoto lens, a feature hitherto exclusive to Pro models. Following leaked renders displaying a third rear lens, Google issued a teaser for the Pixel 10, confirming the significant camera upgrade.

All phones in the series are expected to utilize a new Tensor G5 processor, marking the start of the Gemini era and boosting performance and power efficiency compared to the Tensor G4 chip.

Further updates seem limited, with no noticeable design changes anticipated for the phones. The displays are predicted to stay the same, with the standard Pixel 10 and Pro models featuring a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro XL variant will boast a larger 6.8-inch screen.

Improvements in camera and video quality, along with battery size, are anticipated for the Pro models, potentially enabling faster charging and addressing the performance gap between Pixel devices and flagship phones from Apple and Samsung.

Rumors swirl that the Pixel 10 series could support Qi2 wireless charging, making it one of the few Android phones compatible with magnetic accessories like chargers, wallets, and mounts. Google is also reportedly launching a “Pixelsnap” phone case equipped with a magnetic ring in the center.

Regarding Google’s upcoming foldable device, whispers suggest it will boast a larger cover display, approximately 6.4 inches, alongside an 8-inch main screen. Additionally, improvements to the hinge’s strength and thinner bezels are expected for a sleeker appearance.

Another intriguing rumor is the possibility of an IP68 rating, a first for the device. (Leaked specifications hint that this may indeed be on the horizon.) This rating would make the device resistant to both dust and water, while the Pixel 9 Pro Fold currently offers no dust protection.

Like other Pixel 10 phones, the Pro Fold is expected to use the new G5 chip and incorporate the latest Gemini AI features. The camera system may also receive enhancements, potentially featuring a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The phone should also likely see a boost in battery life.

The Pixel 10 series could be available in Moonstone and Jade colors.

Wearables will also take center stage at Google’s event, with the Pixel Watch 4 rumored to boast a thicker design, longer battery life, and smaller bezels.

There is a high probability that the smartwatch will introduce new health and fitness-tracking capabilities, possibly including an upgraded blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring function.

Leaks of the Pixel Buds 2a suggest that the earbuds will debut in new colors: Fog Light, Hazel, Iris, and Strawberry, along with features such as active noise cancellation. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also expected to come in a new Sterling color.
