Google’s Pixel 10 Family Unveiled: Triple Camera Setup, Upgraded Tensor G5 Processor, and AI-Powered Features like Gemini Live

Google unveiled its new lineup of Pixel smartphones – the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL – during its Made by Google event on Wednesday. All devices are powered by the company’s latest Tensor G5 processor. The base model Pixel 10 introduces a triple camera setup for the first time, while the Pro models primarily receive iterative updates in terms of processor and camera sensors.
Last year’s Pixel 9 featured a pair of wide and ultra-wide sensors. The new Pixel 10 boasts a new telephoto lens that allows for 5x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom through Super Res Zoom, with a 48-megapixel wide sensor, Quad phase detection per pixel, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
The Pro models feature a new 50-megapixel wide sensor with optical stabilization and Super Res Zoom (up to 20x) for video. They also include a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and increased 100x Super Res digital zoom.
All phones retain the same screen sizes: the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro both sport a 6.3-inch display, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL boasts a larger 6.8-inch display. Google claims that all devices now support a new “actua” display, capable of reaching up to 3,300 nits of brightness on the Pro models and 3,000 nits on the Pixel 10.
All Pixels are powered by the Tensor G5 chip, combined with the Titan M2 security chip and a new image processing unit. Google reports that the new chip enhances CPU performance by 34% and TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) by 60%, enabling faster AI capabilities.
Google introduced Gemini as the default assistant last year with the Pixel 9, along with features like Pixel Studio for AI-powered image generation and a new screenshot app.
This year, the company has upgraded Gemini Live to enable visual overlays during video calls, allowing the assistant to guide users by highlighting specific parts of the screen. Google is also introducing a new feature called Magic Cue, which surfaces contextual information from across apps, such as flight details during a call with an airline or restaurant reservation details while chatting with a friend.
The company is also adding a Gemini-powered camera coach that offers suggestions for framing and composition within the camera interface. Additional features include real-time translation for calls, transcripts for missed or declined calls through call screening, Notebook LM integration with the screenshot app, and a recorder.
The Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will retail at similar prices to their predecessors, priced at $799 and $999, respectively. However, the Pixel 10 Pro XL now starts at $1,199, with base storage increased to 256GB.
