Vantage Data Centers’ $25bn Frontier Mega-Campus in Texas to Lead AI Infrastructure Revolution with 1.4GW Capacity

In a joint venture between Vantage Data Centers and DigitalBridge Group, plans have been announced for an unprecedented 1.4GW data center mega-campus named Frontier, situated in Shackelford County, Texas. This project aims to meet the significant infrastructure demands posed by emerging AI technologies.

With a projected investment of over $25 billion, Vantage Data Centers is setting new standards for data center capabilities. The campus will span 1,200 acres and house ten data centers totalling 3.7 million square feet, solidifying Texas as a crucial hub for AI providers seeking substantial computing power.

Construction on this expansive campus has already commenced, with the first structure set to be completed in mid-2026. The design of Frontier allows it to accommodate ultra high-density racks exceeding 250kW – an essential feature for the high-demand environments characteristic of AI, where standard data center designs often fall short.

In response to the substantial thermal loads generated by next-generation GPUs, liquid cooling systems will be implemented across the entire facility. This innovation is crucial in addressing the demands placed upon data centers by cutting-edge AI technologies.
