Chinese Company Exposed for Selling ‘Digital Great Firewall’ Globally: Digital Authoritarianism as a Service

Leaked internal documents from an obscure Chinese firm have shed light on the global marketing and exportation of digital censorship tools. The company, Geedge Networks, is reportedly selling a commercially available “Great Firewall” equivalent to at least four nations, including Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Myanmar.
The unprecedented leak offers a detailed insight into the capabilities this firm possesses for monitoring, intercepting, and hacking internet traffic. Researchers analyzing the documents have labeled it as “digital authoritarianism as a service.”
