Half of Businesses Lag Behind as AI-Powered Workplace Transformation Stalls

Business leaders across the globe acknowledge the necessity of digital workspace overhauls, yet many remain entrenched in planning stages as competitors reap productivity benefits from AI integration.
Findings from Lenovo’s report on Igniting Real Workplace Transformation shed light on this expanding gap between ambition and action.
Alarmingly, despite 97% of organizations recognizing the need for digital transformation, only approximately four in ten have initiated the process. This leaves a staggering 61% of companies observing from the sidelines as early adopters reap the rewards of AI-enabled workspaces.
Improving employee productivity and engagement consistently tops the priority list for IT leaders; however, fewer than half believe their existing digital workplaces truly deliver on this promise.
The disconnect has become more pronounced with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI). Over 80% of IT leaders acknowledge Gen AI’s potential to revolutionize work processes. Simultaneously, they recognize that implementing AI tools necessitates a comprehensive workplace transformation rather than merely investing in new software.
Despite this understanding, Lenovo’s research reveals that only 39% are currently undergoing such transformations.
