Trump Urges Microsoft to Fire Lisa Monaco Over National Security Concerns and Obama-Biden Ties

Microsoft faces criticism from former President Donald Trump over the employment of Lisa Monaco, who currently serves as the company’s president of global affairs. Trump raised concerns about Monaco’s access to sensitive information due to her previous roles as a senior National Security aide under Barack Obama and Deputy Attorney General under Joe Biden’s administration.

Trump posted on Truth Social, expressing his opinion that Microsoft should terminate Monaco’s employment immediately, citing her perceived access to highly sensitive data as unacceptable.

Monaco joined Microsoft in May, taking on responsibilities overseeing the company’s cybersecurity policy and managing relationships with world governments. Previously, she worked closely with both Obama and Biden administrations. Trump had previously revoked Monaco’s security clearance earlier this year, along with those of other high-profile individuals such as Biden, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton, among others.

Far-right activist Laura Loomer has been vocal about her criticism of Microsoft for hiring Monaco, often expressing her views on social media platforms like X. In a recent post, she accused Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella of questionable business practices, citing his Indian origins. On Friday, Loomer reiterated Trump’s call to cancel all government contracts with Microsoft.

Trump has not shied away from targeting tech executives since returning to office. Previously, he publicly called on Intel President Lip-Bu Tan to resign over alleged conflicts of interest. However, following Intel’s subsequent deal with the government, Trump later praised Tan as a highly respected CEO.
