ServiceNow’s Acquisition of MoveWorks Under Antitrust Scrutiny: Potential Implications for the Tech Industry

The acquisition of enterprise AI startup Moveworks by ServiceNow is reportedly under examination by the U.S. Justice Department for potential antitrust violations, according to sources familiar with the matter as reported by Bloomberg. This review commenced in June, with both companies receiving a “second request” which requires additional information prior to deal advancement.

ServiceNow announced its acquisition of Moveworks for $2.85 billion in March, initially anticipating the transaction to be finalized during the second half of 2025. At this time, ServiceNow has yet to provide a statement regarding the current status of the acquisition. Moveworks has declined comment on the matter.
