Google Unveils Pixel 10 Series at Aug. 20 Event – AI Features & MagSafe-like Attachment Anticipated

On August 20, Google’s annual “Made By Google” event will take place in New York City. The company has invited attendees to witness the unveiling of new additions to its Pixel device portfolio. The event commences at 1 p.m. EDT at Google’s New York office.
For those unable to attend, the event can be streamed live on Google’s Made By Google YouTube channel. CNET’s Bridget Carey and Iyaz Akhtar will provide live analysis of the unveiled products starting at 9:30 a.m. PT / 12:30 p.m. ET on August 20.
Google is building anticipation for its latest devices, as it did in 2024 with the Pixel 9, by releasing teasers showcasing the design of the upcoming Pixel 10 series. The teaser videos suggest a similar design to the Pixel 9 Pro, featuring three rear cameras and a polished metal frame.
Google may also be following Apple’s lead by incorporating magnets into the Pixel 10 line. Pictures from leaker Evan Blass show a MagSafe-like attachment on a blue Pixel 10 model, which could be named “Pixelsnap.”
In terms of specifications, expect updates across the board, including a next-generation Tensor G5 processor, revised camera modules, upgraded memory and storage, and advanced AI features utilizing Google’s Gemini.
Rumors about the Pixel Watch 4 suggest a circular design similar to its predecessors, with potential changes in charging methods. The Pixel Buds 2a are also expected to receive a refresh, possibly in new colors like Iris (lavender).
Google’s smart home devices could see updates as well, with the Nest Audio speakers potentially receiving an upgrade since their last update in 2020. Google Assistant is reportedly set to improve this fall, addressing user complaints about broken features.
Mixed reality headsets may also make an appearance at the event. Previous collaborations between Google and Samsung hint at potential developments in this area.
